Delve into imperial history in Meknes and the ancient medina of Fes, then embark on a grand adventure across the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert. Enjoy two nights among the golden dunes, explore majestic gorges and valleys, visit film-famous kasbahs, and cross the High Atlas to finish in the vibrant red city of Marrakech. This tour perfectly balances cultural discovery, natural wonders, and adventurous spirit.
Your tour begins upon arrival at Casablanca Airport. Start with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, an architectural wonder overlooking the Atlantic. After a brief city tour, travel to the capital, Rabat. Explore the historic Kasbah of the Udayas and see the Hassan Tower. In the late afternoon, continue into the Rif Mountains to arrive in the serene Chefchaouen.

Enjoy a morning at leisure to wander Chefchaouen’s iconic blue alleyways. Afterward, journey south. Your first stop is the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, where you can walk among well-preserved mosaics. Next, visit the imperial city of Meknes to see the grand Bab Mansour gate and the vast Heri es-Souani granaries. Arrive in Fes by evening.

Dedicate the day to discovering Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the world’s largest living medieval city. With a local guide, navigate its labyrinthine streets to see key sites like the Chouara Tannery, the intricate Al-Attarine and Bou Inania madrasas (theological schools), and vibrant artisan quarters.

Depart early for the Sahara. Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing the alpine-style town of Ifrane and stopping in the Cedar Forests of Azrou to see Barbary macaques. Continue through Ziz Gorge and enjoy lunch in Midelt. As the landscape changes, follow the Ziz Valley oasis before reaching the dunes of Merzouga. Here, you’ll mount camels for a trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset. Arrive at your desert camp for a traditional dinner and a night under the stars.

After breakfast at the camp, explore the desert’s surroundings by 4×4 vehicle. Visit the seasonal Dayet Srji lake (often home to flamingos), the village of Khamlia for a performance of spiritual Gnawa music, and a nomadic family to learn about their way of life. Discover sites of black volcanic rock and golden dunes near the Algerian border. In the late afternoon, enjoy another unforgettable camel ride at sunset before returning to your desert camp.

Wake up early for a spectacular desert sunrise. After breakfast, return to Merzouga village. Your journey continues to the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where you can take a walk between its towering 300-meter-high cliffs. Afterwards, drive through the scenic Dades Valley, famous for its unique rock formations, to your hotel in Boumalne Dades.

Travel through the Dades Valley and into the fragrant Rose Valley (spectacular in spring). Continue to Skoura to visit the well-preserved Kasbah Amridil. Arrive in Ouarzazate, known as “Africa’s Hollywood.” Visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah and see the Atlas Film Studios from the outside.
