Travel from the edge of the Sahara, through sweeping valleys and cedar forests, to the ancient imperial heart of Fes.
Your tour begins with a pickup from your Ouarzazate hotel. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient clay fortress famous for its film appearances. Return to Ouarzazate to explore Kasbah Taourirt and the famous Atlas Film Studios. Then, drive along the scenic “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” passing through the Skoura Oasis, the fragrant Rose Valley, and the dramatic rock formations of the Dades Valley. Your day ends in Tinghir, the gateway to Todra Gorge.

After breakfast, explore the stunning Todra Gorge, where you can take a short walk between its towering 300-meter-high cliffs. Journey east towards the Sahara, passing through the vast palm oasis of the Ziz Valley. Stop in Erfoud to visit fossil workshops and in the historic trading town of Rissani. Arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Mount camels for a peaceful trek into the dunes to watch a breathtaking sunset. Spend the night at a traditional desert camp, enjoying a Berber dinner and music under the stars.

Wake early for a magnificent desert sunrise. After breakfast at the camp, ride your camel back to Merzouga village. Begin the scenic drive north to Fes. Travel through the Ziz Valley oasis, stop for lunch in Midelt, and cross the Middle Atlas Mountains. Visit the Cedar Forests of Azrou to see Barbary macaques and pass through the alpine-style town of Ifrane. Arrive in the imperial city of Fes by early evening, where your tour concludes.
